Friendly Mockery - Mockingbird Blog

Welcome.

Welcome to Mockingbird! Our goal is to be the fastest and friendliest rapid wireframing tool, and we welcome all your feedback and suggestions on how we can best fulfill that goal.

We’re in beta right now and are still in the process of working out some kinks, so please let us know if you see something that seems amiss.

We have a lot of things planned, and we’re going to be unrolling them quickly, so stay tuned! In the meantime, let us know what you’d like to see. Happy wireframing.

great tool! It would be nice to have a page tree tool and commenting for reviewers.

Hi Marc. Thanks for the feedback. Commenting is definitely on our radar (probably the next feature on our roadmap). Could you elaborate further on what you mean by "page tree tool"?

I think Marc probably means something like a sitemapping/information architecture tool to go along with the wireframes. If you are looking for a online sitemapping tool, much like Mockingbird is for wireframes, you could try http://writemaps.com. Both are great at what they do.

I think he's looking for a hierarchical view of all the pages in the wireframe set. This view is most commonly shown in a nested (un)ordered list view in popular CMS's, etc.

I'd like to see this as well.

Amazing service! Love it!

Hi again. Chip got it. Something akin to writemaps, which is great but is flash and does not print very well. In our process we usually present a site map and a wireframe at the same time. To have both in a unified tool would be killer.

Hiya. I'm very pleased with Mockingbird already. It has just the right balance of simplicity, accessibility and up-to-date web 2.x features.

Some suggestions:
-When copy/pasting a widget from one page to another, the widget should appear at the same spot
-Bold option for text (even though you are trying to avoid formats - which is a good thing - but this is quite essential for separating titles from content text, makes things much more readable)
-A tooltip for the "Autosize text button", because I have no idea how/when it works and what it does

That's it for now, thanks & keep up the good work!

Beautiful app! Great job!

We use iPlotz right now. Can you give a sense for your future pricing model? If it's similar to iPlotz, we may move over to Mockingbird. Thanks. -Bill

any ability to change the background color of say, a rectangle?
Nov 06, 2009
Jon Thomas: Changing colors is definitely on our list of features, but no way to do it yet.

billclarke: We haven't really worked out the pricing model yet, but we'll be posting details on that once we do.

marcinfield, iso100, chipcullen: We've definitely talked about having a sitemap generator. But there is still quite a few other features we want to implement before we get to that - though that may, of course, change based on the feedback we're getting. Thanks for trying us out!
